VAMPIRE LEADER OUSTED OVER RELM SYMBOL CONVICTION

The Vampire Council has announced that it has removed its leader, Countess Cambion Winterfall, following her conviction and imprisonment for wearing an unholy symbol of the dark god Relm.

Following a meeting of some of the Council’s senior vampires, a statement was released condemning Countess Winterfall’s actions. “Although the Council accepts her apologies, we agree with King Steadfast that such action cannot be tolerated. Therefore, in addition to the punishment Countess Winterfall already received from The King, we, the Vampire Council, have decided to remove her as leader of the Council.”

Count Kain - whom the Council describe as of “impeccable nature and one of the Council's greater warriors” - has been installed as interim leader until such time as all its senior membership, particularly Alethea Sidhe, Davian von Darke and Count Hellstromm, can be brought together at the Council’s secret headquarters to select a new permanent leader.

Countess Winterfall herself was unavailable for comment.

The Vampire Council, which has no formal recognition from the Crown, seeks to represent the interests of vampires in Bereny and has been campaigning for their recognition as citizens. Those opposed to such a move have seized on the Countess’ transgression as evidence of vampire’s disregard for the Gods of Light.
