LAVA FLOW CUTS OFF SECTION OF RED MOUNTAIN

In a disaster for "Bereny's finest courtyard", an unusually large lava flow burst to the courtyard surface recently in Red Mountain Keep. A large section known as the Wealthy Quarter has been cut off from the outside world, trapping as many as one thousand citizens.
"In all my years I've never seen so much lava!", said one elderly resident of the area fortunate enough to be at the Rose and Thorns when the lava appeared. "All my gold is trapped in there! Oh, and my wife."
"This is an unusual event", said Guard Commander Johnny Sevenlimes. "Not only is the lava completely surrounding the area, a toxic smoke rising from the molten rock prevents any attempts at rescue. We suspect gang activity and are investigating thoroughly."
However while gangs such as the Red Death have in the past used lava to destroy buildings, our sources indicate they are as concerned as everyone else. "It's way beyond what we could do. Either Red Mountain is going to erupt or those fool adventurers just woke up something horrible.", said an unnamed gang leader.
Despite the horrible event, adventurers and traders callously continue to go about their business. "Yeah, you can hear them screaming in there.", said one adventurer. "But I got treasure to find."
