EARL DICKON APPOINTED DUKE OF CROWNHEART

In celebration of his 12th birthday, the heir to the throne, Prince Drake Nathaniel Steadfast-Tredach, Earl of the Southern Glaciers, commonly known as Earl Dickon, has been named Duke of Crownheart.

The Dukedom of Bereny’s capitol city is traditionally held by the heir to the throne, and has been vacant since the ascension of his father King Dirk a year ago. It has remained vacant pending Earl Dickon reaching his official age of majority, although the attacks on the city over the past year may also have influenced his father’s decision to keep the Duchy in his own hands until the danger had passed.

The announcement was made in a relatively low-key manner as no investiture ceremony is currently planned. The young Duke is touring his territories in the far south and is unlikely to be back in Homeward for some time. It is believed that he is currently out in the Icefields of the Southern Glacier, where he and his retinue have been involved in battles with some of the dangerous monsters that inhabit those lands.
